Some of the students have been reviewing subtraction with borrowing. Ask your child to try out a question for you like: 300 - 78. They can solve it on paper first and check their answer with a calculator.
We had a quick introduction to Fractions of a Set today. Some quick questions you could ask them are ones like:
-What fraction of the people living in our house are male? female?
-What fraction of windows in our house have curtains or blinds?
-What fraction of a week is one day?
-What fraction of a dime is one penny?
-What fraction of a dollar is one penny?
-What fraction of a metre is 1 cm?
This is a chart of the highlights of what we learned today.
